Air Jordan 31 - Space Jam

The Air Jordan XXXI embodies three decades of Air Jordan innovation. Ready for on-court performance, the design is equipped with innovative Zoom Air cushioning and FlightSpeed technology. The flexible Flyweave upper combines with patent leather to provide all-around support. As a nod to the 1996 Air Jordan XI, this latest Air Jordan XXXI takes on the classic, black, dark concord and white ‘Space Jam’ colorway.

Since his game-winning shot that brought championship glory to North Carolina, Michael Jordan has been at the forefront of basketball consciousness. He took the court in 1985 wearing the original Air Jordan I, simultaneously breaking league rules and his opponents' will while capturing the imagination of fans worldwide.

Air Jordan 11 - Space Jam

The Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” is officially set to make a return in its original form this December, with a remastered retro release of the highly anticipated Air Jordan 11 for the holidays.

As a nod to the original pair that Michael Jordan wore during the 1995 NBA Playoffs, Jordan Brand will be finally releasing that exact version.

This Air Jordan 11 features a Black mesh upper with matching patent leather that comes in a higher-cut to mimci the original, as well as the ’45’ on the heel and Nike Air branding on the insoles. The shoe is completed with a Concord Jumpman logo, White midsole and icy translucent outsoles.

The packaging for the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” comes in a Warner Bros./Looney Tunes and Bugs Bunny theme throughout the three layers box set. The package includes a Space Jam theme under box cover graphic, along with the number ’45’ on the wrapping paper and displayed on inner of the box. There’s also a special graphic of both Bugs Bunny’s and The Monsters’ arms wrapping around each-other to create the number ’23.’ Finishing off the packaging design is a dot pattern ‘XI’ on the plastic cover.

DOERNBECHER FREESTYLE COLLECTION

What makes you unstoppable? That's a good question for Andy, Braylin, Chehayla, Chase, Corwin and Damien. These six young Doernbecher patients have all refused to let serious illness or trauma stop them from laughing, learning and dreaming big.

To know what makes these courageous young kids so unstoppable, look no further than the Doernbecher Freestyle Collection, which they created using inspiration from their own extraordinary lives. Each custom design celebrates the things that keep them going, from family and friends to personal words of wisdom. Even a famous frog makes an appearance.

Their one-of-a-kind footwear and apparel designs will launch on Saturday, 12.17, with all proceeds benefitting OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital. This remarkable fundraising partnership between Nike and OHSU has raised $14 million since the program began in 2004.

KYRIE 2 - ANDY GRASS

To say that Andy Grass is resilient would be an understatement. He was critically injured when a wave rolled a log over him on the beach, crushing much of his body and collapsing both lungs. He spent over three weeks at Doernbecher, where doctors worked around the clock to stabilize his injuries and get him breathing on his own again. His remarkable journey is documented on his Kyrie 2.

Within the Swoosh, the word 'Joy' honors his Aunt Peggy, who was battling breast cancer while Andy was recovering. “She and I would encourage each other a lot,” he explains. “Before she passed away, she reminded me to find joy in every day.” The shades of blue on his shoe are a shout-out to his beloved baseball and basketball teams, while his personal logo on the tongue boasts a sporty lion standing proudly on top of the log that took him down.

AIR HUARACHE RUN ULTRA - BRAYLIN SOON

Remember Braylin’s name — if this aspiring young actor has anything to say about it, you’ll be seeing it in lights someday. Until then, this girl, with her unforgettable charisma
is working towards her dreams with a brand-new liver to replace the one that failed due to autoimmune hepatitis.

Her colorful personality is well represented on her Air Huarache Run Ultra, which pays homage to another talented performer, Kermit the Frog. “Of all the Muppet characters, he’s my favorite,” Braylin explained. “He’s entertaining and funny, but I also like that he’s a really nice guy.” Braylin’s shoe also offers a tribute to another special person. You’ll find six stars on the upper; those represent Braylin’s liver donor, who was six when she died. “I’m so grateful to that little girl, so I wanted to do something to honor her,” she said.

AIR MAX ZERO - CHEHAYLA HYATT

One day when Chehayla was in the hospital receiving treatment for cystic fibrosis, she looked up and spotted a flock of wooden birds hanging from the ceiling. “Mom,” she said, “the birds are like the Doernbecher staff. They take us under their wings.”

That beautiful sentiment, which is expressed inside her Air Max Zero shoe, is just one example of this vibrant girl’s charm and wisdom. Chehayla’s shoe also features her nickname, which is a testament to her favorite food: chicken nuggets. (Her older sister Talon started calling her Nugget one day, and the name stuck.) Other awesome design details include kitty cat faces, speckled laces, and tons of purple hearts — that’s to represent cystic fibrosis awareness. “Purple is the color of the ribbon we wear,” she explains.

AIR MAX ZERO - CHASE SWEARINGEN

His name is Chase, but you can call this good-natured 14-year-old ‘The Captain.’ “It’s my nickname because I’m a take-charge kind of guy,” he smiled. He’s also a really smart guy. Chase is planning on pursuing a doctorate in neuropsychology someday and currently designs websites as a hobby.

Chase designed his Air Max Zero shoe with the same attention to detail that he gives everything else in life. Under the shoelaces, tubing runs all the way to the sockliner to represent the shunt that he has had since birth to treat hydrocephalus. He was diagnosed in utero with the condition, which causes dangerous accumulation of fluid around the brain. Chase has a thing for lighthouses, so he designed one on the heel using the Nike swoosh as the light beam. And on the tongue, the words 'Unstoppable Chase' speak to his unbelievable perseverance.

STEFAN JANOSKI MAX - CORWIN CARR

Corwin Carr is a friendly, freckled kid who’s going places — literally. This adventurous 12-year-old can’t wait to grow up and get his pilot’s license so he can explore the world. (His first stop? Edmonton Canada, where his grandparents live.)

Corwin’s sky-high ambitions are clearly evident on his Stefan Janoski Max. A jumbo jet prepares for takeoff across the top, while a map of the world appears inside. As for the shoelaces, well, they just happen to be the same print as the iconic Portland airport carpet. On the pilot’s wings that surround Corwin’s logo, you’ll notice 40 feathers — those are for the 40 surgeries he’s had since he was diagnosed in utero with prune belly and VATER syndrome, a rare condition that can affect the spine, heart, digestive system, kidneys and more. It’s been a tough journey, but Corwin’s mom, Blaire, says it hasn’t shaken his unsinkable optimism.

AIR JORDAN VII - DAMIEN PHILLIPS

It isn’t easy to live with a severe bleeding disorder — but Damien Phillips isn’t about to let his diagnosis of hemophilia stop him. This tenacious kid even learned to administer  his own infusions, which earned him the Big Stick Award at hemophilia camp. “Once you can stick yourself with a needle, you get the award,” he said. “It’s literally a big stick!” Damien has a multidisciplinary team at Doernbecher to help out if he needs it, but he has truly taken ownership of managing his condition. That gives him more time to focus on the stuff he really loves, like playing basketball and jamming on his guitar. (He can play a mean Smoke on the Water.)

Designing the Air Jordan VII was a serious thrill for Damien, who is a huge Chicago Bulls fan. “When I found out, I was so excited, I was jumping all over the place,” he laughed. His design features red and black to represent the Bulls’ team colors, as well as rock ‘n’ roll accents like a guitar pick on the laces and a heel tab that resembles a guitar neck. Flip the shoe over, and you’ll see Damien playing a power solo on the outsole. Damien says he hopes that Michael Jordan will want to rock his shoe; he also hopes it will encourage other kids with hemophilia to stay positive.

Air Jordan 9 - Kobe Bryant

This Air Jordan 9 was originally made for Kobe Bryant to wear after he was cut from Adidas and became a sneaker free agent.

This PE is one of the latest Jordan models that pay respect to the recently retired Black Mamba. The Jordan is dressed in the Los Angeles Lakers team colors. The shoe starts off with a White leather upper. Additional White can be seen on the laces, lining outsole and part of the midsole. Adding a bold motif and some contrast to the White sneaker are the Concord patent leather overlays and the Tour Yellow used to take care of the branding hits. Addition pop is given to the shoe by way of the Chrome eyelets. The heel comes with “23” hits on them to round out the look of the shoe.

OREGON DUCKS X JORDAN BRAND

If there are two things in his career Tinker Hatfield keeps closest to his heart, it’s the Jumpman and the Oregon Ducks. As a track and field star for the Ducks who has gone on to design some of the most iconic Air Jordan designs, the connection between the two are quite strong and evident.

Back in 2011, Tinker was helping think up new ways to outfit athletes during travel. Feeling like more could be done than the regular sweatsuits and Oregon-colored inline styles, Tinker shot for the stars and pushed to present the University of Oregon with some exclusive Air Jordans.

As the new academic year is upon us, Tinker provides a look back at the entire University of Oregon x Air Jordan collection.

"I felt like there was something missing. It wasn’t really that exciting and no one was talking about it. And I felt like there could be this excitement driven by leveraging the history of the Jordan Brand, even though we aren’t talking about a Jordan school, but just the history of the brand and Michael Jordan himself,” Tinker explained as he looked back.

Since then, multiple Air Jordan classics have been given the Oregon Ducks treatment, igniting energy for the program while capturing the attention of collectors everywhere.

AIR JORDAN IX
2011

The Air Jordan IX marked the start of something special. Chosen by Tinker personally, the Air Jordan IX gave Tinker exactly what he needed. A simple silhouette that served the players in travel while providing a great canvas for his work.

The design was brought to life with the help of another former Oregon athlete, designer Jaison Williams. “I actually asked for some help from Jaison Williams, who is an ex-University of Oregon football player, to help 'Oregon-ize' these. I told him what I wanted to do and he did the artwork and the number, so that was cool,” said Tinker, as he reminisced on the first-ever Oregon Ducks Air Jordan.

AIR JORDAN III
PIT CREW 2012

Once again, Tinker looked to those around him for help on the Air Jordan III’s design for the Pit Crew. “Todd Van Horne drew this logo up, which is two hands clapping, just to refer back to the Pit Crew. JWill actually added the Duck feet on the heel. Otherwise, I was just going to go with the 'O'."

AIR JORDAN III
2012

Done up at the same time as the Pit Crew exclusive, the white-based Air Jordan III was created as yet another exclusive for the football team. Once again designed as travel footwear, the design came to life in a versatile white finish with Oregon Ducks branding on the tongue and heel.

AIR JORDAN IV
2013

The Air Jordan IV is by far the closest to Tinker Hatfield’s heart. The design by Hatfield is dedicated to his dear friend Doug McClain, who passed away shortly before the shoe’s creation. “This guy was a diehard Ducks fan. We would go to the games together. When Doug passed away, I thought 'Well, how much do these players really know about some of the fans that support them year in and year out, no matter the outcome?' Doug was one of those fans,” Tinker revealed.

A U of O alum and a lifelong Ducks fan, Doug was remembered by Tinker with a simple but strong message taking over the Air Jordan IV’s inside tongue tag. But the project didn’t end there for Tinker. “If you look inside, there’s a little note that makes mention of Doug McClain. But that wasn’t enough, I actually went down and talked to the players and coaches. They heard the story straight from me and it was pretty emotional.”

AIR JORDAN IV
DUCKMAN 2013

Alongside the beloved Air Jordan IV in black, the iconic Air Jordan design was also done up in white and made exclusively for the University of Oregon’s basketball program. “These came out in 2013, but just for the basketball team. Because Oregon was starting to excel in basketball, I thought it was maybe time we helped them in the same way we work with the football team," said Hatfield of the design.

AIR JORDAN V
DUCKMAN 2014

The Air Jordan V was also done up for the Oregon Ducks in a more traditional black-based colorway. The design elevated the silhouette with classic Oregon tones and recognizable Oregon branding on the tongue.

At the heel is a unique “Jumpduck” logo also designed by Jaison Williams. Respecting just how sacred the original Jumpman logo is, the Air Jordan IV and Air Jordan V are the only two styles to ever utilize the “Jumpduck” logo specifically created for Oregon.

AIR JORDAN V
2014

Once it was time to work on the Air Jordan V for the University of Oregon, Tinker was already prepared to take things in a different direction while still staying true to Oregon’s roots. “There’s a reason why these are either black or white, it's so they are easy to wear. So I was like let's just do a totally bright green one and put the Duck on it. Even though it was bright green, it was just a good departure from everything before it."

AIR JORDAN XX9
2014

To follow up the initial series of retro styles for the Ducks, Tinker and team went the modern route with the Air Jordan XX9. Done up once again for Oregon’s football program, the Air Jordan XX9 features a tonal wing-inspired graphic with logo hits on the tongue and heel.

JORDAN MELO M10
2014

The next year, it was time another group of athletes got in on the mix. This time, it was the University of Oregon’s Track & Field program. To award and celebrate them, another performance model, the Melo M10, was Oregon-ized. The design features a unique graphic throughout the toe and tongue, and came coupled with an Oregon Ducks logo hit on the tongue.

AIR JORDAN XIV
2015

For the latest Oregon Air Jordan, Tinker called on the sports car-inspired Air Jordan XIV. The luxurious design was done up in grand fashion, complete with an all-over, embossed Puddles pattern. This grey-based version was exclusive to the football team and select friends and family, and was also accompanied by a very special message from Tinker.

“This card was a minor but important little component to this program, which essentially, in my lingo and with the sketches, explains who gets these things and why. In this case, there’s some responsibility put on the people who want these shoes to have to be a part of the program," explained Tinker about the unique card accompanied by a sketch.

AIR JORDAN XIV
2016

Looking out for other sports at the University of Oregon’s athletic program, Tinker also cooked up a matching Air Jordan XIV in a classic green suede finish. To set them apart, you’ll see the tongue features a specific call out to each sport such as “B.Ball” or "V.Ball" or “Track.”
